Previously with Memotec Semir was vice-president of Marketing & Strategy, and Product Marketing director at Comtech. Prior to this tenure, Semir has launched startups and held several international assignments with Oz Communications (acquired by Nokia), Airwide solutions/Schlumberger & Sema Group in the areas of product management, solutions architecture and product development.
Semir holds a M.S in Electronics and Automatics from the University of Sciences of Montpellier, France and a M.S in Business Administration (major is strategy) from the Institut Francais de Gestion, France.

Thierry BERISOT is promoting 5G and IoT to Verticals & Companies (Smart City, Utilities, Transport & Logistics…) and companies and verticals use cases to Carriers & Telecoms world.
He leads the standardization efforts to help verticals to get a say in the standardization at ETSI/3GPP: smart metering, asset tracking, logistics and transport, satellite…
He talks to all carriers worldwide to explain them the verticals & users’ positions.
He helps build trust & business between those different stakeholders i.e. Verticals and Carriers.
Before, he was Head of Access Clients for Mobile Broadband and terminal product development at Deutsche Telekom (Germany) from 2006 to 2015 where he was strongly involved in the 4G launch. He drove as well many industry and standardization initiatives such as the OMA OpenCMAPI which he chaired after having initiated it by convincing players such as Intel, Qualcomm, China Mobile, Huawei, Telefonica, Orange… to join.
Prior to this, he held various international experience positions as Business Development & Marketing Director for a Content & Software Company, as Senior Devices Vendor Manager at Proximus (Belgium) for 3G or as Strategic consulting on messaging and multimedia based in London.
Previously, in the end of 90’s, Thierry was SMS Product Marketing Manager in SFR (France) where he anticipated the success of SMS and defined the SFR’s SMS long-term strategy prior to become Senior Product Marketing Manager for SMS and content services at Vizzavi France then Vizzavi Europe (Joint-venture Vodafone-Vivendi / London) in 2000 where he was particularly in charge of devising very innovative multimedia and mobile content services for multi access (internet, mobile and TV).
Dr Beutler has been participating in EBU technical activities for more than 15 years and has chaired several EBU groups dealing with the future of broadcast distribution systems. He was chair of the several of EBU’s Strategic Programmes and Project Teams. Currently he acts as chairman for the Strategic Programme on Distribution. This group coordinates the engagement of European broadcasters in 3GPP, the global standardization organization of mobile technology. Roland Beutler is actively participating in different 3GPP groups to support the requirements of broadcasters for 4G and 5G developments.
Roland Beutler is also involved in ITU and CEPT work and has been responsible for several of their working groups, both radio and TV related. He participated in WRC-12, WRC-15 and RRC-06 and was deeply involved in the preparation of the latter conference. Moreover, he has published several articles and four books on frequency and network planning for digital terrestrial broadcasting systems, the digital dividend of broadcasting and the evolution of broadcast content distribution.
